A Shared Interest Group (SIG) on Publications was formed to assist members who have been transcribing records relevant to Clarke and Oconee counties.
Our next project is the Inferior Court Minutes of Clarke County. This project was provisionally approved for a publication grant by the R.J. Taylor, Jr. Foundation.
Mary Anne Abbe has already transcribed the minutes from 1802 – 1830. If you are interested in helping us complete this project, please contact us at cogsgenealogy@gmail.com. We will be meeting and working in a conference room within the Heritage Room at the Athens-Clarke County Library and would love to have your help!
Help is needed with: proofreading, indexing, writing an introduction, and formatting the book. Some of the work can be completed at home. Just think how satisfying it will be to make this information more accessible and to walk into a library and see a book that you helped publish!
