Diane L. Richard will guide us through the fascinating world of Freedmen’s Bureau records, a powerful yet often overlooked resource for anyone researching Southern ancestry. Established in 1865, the Freedmen’s Bureau was instrumental in managing war-displaced refugees, newly freed African Americans, and lands affected by the Civil War.

Diane will be presenting via Zoom. Anyone may watch this program for free in the A-CC Library Auditorium with COGS members. Register for a Zoom link to view this program from home (or your favorite Zoom viewing location). Zoom registration is free to COGS members and $5 for non-members. You do not need to register to watch this program at the library.
